About our Meetings
We meet every month except August and always the third Monday in the month at 7:00pm in Burnham Market & Norton Village Hall, Beacon Hill Road.
Our meetings follow the same format and include:
- Opportunity for public question time
- Reports from the Allotment and Car Park Working Groups
- Planning Applications to be considered
- Correspondence and financial matters
- We will also talk about our current projects
Our meetings and our Council is governed by Standing Orders and Financial Regulations which we have adopted to help us with the governance of our Council and to comply with the law.
Members of the public are very welcome to attend any of the meetings of the Council, but may not take part in the debate. However, at the start and at the end of the main meeting there is a time set aside for members of the public to make any comments that they would like to bring to the attention of Councillors. Comments may be on any subject of concern to the Council, including items that are to be discussed later, or other issues entirely. In the latter case, however, the public are asked to bear in mind that legally the Council can only discuss items that have been advertised in the published agenda. Therefore, members of the public introducing new subjects may have to wait until the following month before the Council is able to debate the matter.
It is also possible for members of the public to make comments related to planning matters before the meeting starts. However, in this case, you are asked to inform the Clerk or Chairman that you wish to do so.
